Ingredients

  • 1 cup of sticky rice
  • 1 ripe mango
  • 1 cup of coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • Sesame seeds (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  • 1. Rinse 1 cup of sticky rice in cold water until the water runs clear.
  • 2. Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • 3. Drain the rice and steam it for about 20-25 minutes until it is tender.
  • 4. While the rice is cooking, prepare the mango by peeling and slicing it.
  • 5. In a saucepan, combine 1 can of coconut milk, 1/2 cup of sugar, and a pinch of salt.
  • 6. Heat the mixture over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved.
  • 7. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a bowl and pour the coconut milk mixture over it.
  • 8. Mix well to coat the rice evenly with the coconut milk.
  • 9. Let the rice sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the coconut milk.
